Like most other people here, I have been masturbating for most of my life. I'm 24 now, but I first started doing it at age 11 and have been going at it on average at least twice a day from that point on. Unlike most other people here, I was sexually aware at a much younger age than when I started masturbating. What I mean is that I was having constant erections as early as 6 years old, and I can remember playing with my penis every time I was naked (bathtub, toilet, changing clothes, etc.).
Like many who've taken the time to join this amazing and awe-inspiring site, I have been a life-long masturbator. In fact, I cannot remember a time I haven't masturbated. Call it luck-of-the-draw, coincidence, or the best discovery of my life, but I found out how to pleasure myself before I can even remember my memories. For some reason I knew that it was best done in private, so I can't recall ever being scolded or diverted by my parents. I also don't remember them ever discussing it with me, which is just as well I suppose.
I had my first masturbation session when I was at the start of my teen years, age 13. Nope, I didn't discover it by accident — it was because I got curious about what my classmates were telling me about the good experiences they had while masturbating, which then I would discover as the art of orgasm.
As a young child through 8th grade (age 14), I was sent to a private Christian school. This school was very strict in the teachings they presented to us. Everything was completely religion-based. Even the science and history classes were all about "God's plan." Anyway, I think this background is what kept me from masturbating at an early age like most young boys. When I was a little kid, I didn't even think about what my penis was for. I was not even concerned with myself in that sense until the end of 6th grade when I was 12.
Hi! Female here. Heaven knows how I happened to run into JackinWorld, but I did. I found it most interesting, and sound in judgment and fact. Because you take the subject seriously, I thought I would spend a few minutes and pass along some of my experiences with boyfriends who enjoy my hands on them.
I started noticing differences between boys and girls' bodies in nursery school. The boys and girls didn't have separate restrooms; I thought that girls had to urinate sitting down because their penises weren't fully developed like boys (of course we urinated standing).
We would have been called innocent in 1966. Now I'd call it ignorant.
The first time I ever heard of masturbation, I was 13. I had been in a chat room and was dared to masturbate. I told everyone I was doing it, even though I didn't know what it was. A few minutes later I asked a 17-year-old guy who was also in the chat room; he told me what is was and how to do it. Later that night, at around 10 p.m., I went into the bathroom and tried it. I didn't understand the feelings it gave me, but I kept going until orgasm. No semen came out, and it felt painful to me. I promised myself I wouldn't try it again because of the discomfort.
Growing up in a fairly (or depending upon how you look at it, unfairly) religious family, I was extremely naive about many things. One of those things was my penis. I don't remember taking note of my penis before age 14 — seriously, it was there so I could pee. Then one day, at the small private school I was attending, a new student that year (with whom I had recently made friends) made an interesting gesture with his hand in front of his groin after saying a joke.
I guess it all started when I was about 11 years old. Although I had heard of it, I wasn't masturbating then, because I thought you had to have started puberty before you could get an orgasm. So I hadn't even tried it.
