My first strong memory of getting an erection is from when I was 4 or 5 years old. My mom and I were walking around in a department store, and she happened to notice I had a tent in my pants. This seemed to embarrass her a little, but being so young it didn't embarrass me at all. She asked me if I had to go to the washroom, and because I didn't, I said no. But back then, I didn't even know why my penis got hard and stuck out like that. I just figured it was what happened when I needed to urinate, and I gave no more thought to it.

I began to masturbate at about age 11, mainly due to curiosity about my body that a number of guys have when they start wanking. I was sitting in bed and noticed that my penis had gone stiff. I began to rub it with the "fist" method, and a little later I had this intense feeling, my first orgasm. I rushed to the bathroom, thinking I needed to pee quite badly. I thought all these feelings I had were odd, and didn't think about what I had done for a week or two. At about this time, my friends had been joking about wanking, and I had no real idea what they were talking about.

From the days of early childhood, I can remember innocently humping pillows or playing with myself. I had no idea what I was doing, nor did I really care. All I knew was that it felt good. In kindergarten I can remember wrestling with the other kids and how good it felt when they would get on top of me and put pressure on my penis. At one point the neighbor kids and I would get together to show each other our penises. I am not really sure why we did it; it may have been simply because we knew we were not supposed to. I believe at age 10 I noticed my first semi-erection.

I began masturbating when I was about 5 years old. Of course, I had no idea what I was doing or why I was doing it, other than it felt really good. Between the ages of 5 and 10, most of the masturbating I did resulted from climbing the poles and using the ring sets on the playground. Some of my favorite sensations still come from climbing poles — but alas, I no longer need to do that.

Where I grew up, in a very conservative state, things like masturbation were not even talked about. It seems to me that Idaho might be a bit on the homophobic side. Also, for some reason, some people have the unhealthy attitude that if you masturbate you are gay, when obviously as many straight people masturbate as gays do. At least in southeastern Idaho, that is the attitude. I never did have shower experiences with other guys because no one ever took a shower in P.E. I don't know how other people pulled it off without smelling horrible, because I had a terrible time with B.O.

I discovered masturbation at a very late age. I was raised extremely conservative Christian. My parents never had "the talk" with me, so I learned only bits and pieces of information. By the time I was 14 (1996), I had read the entire 1964 World Book section on reproduction and sex. The whole reason I ever even tried masturbation was because guys at school would refer to it as if those who did it were weird or wrong. Guys always made fun of it, and I wondered what it was supposed to be exactly.

I was very shy and backwards as a kid, and not at all wise about sexual matters. My parents didn't really talk about sex, and I was too embarrassed to ask. I picked up some things from talking to kids at school, but most of it was over my head and abstract. I had heard of "jacking off" and "masturbation," but I didn't even know they were the same thing, or what they really meant.

I'm a 25-year-old average guy. I have been masturbating for more than half my life (can it be that long?). I'm still a virgin, believe it or not, and plan on staying that way until I'm married. I would say I'm mostly straight, although I enjoy looking at other men. I'm fascinated by the human body — male and female — and can spend hours looking at it. I enjoy spending time naked, especially in the presence of someone else if they don't mind. I love skinny-dipping and tanning in the nude.

Masturbation first entered my world when I was 11. Before this, I had never really experienced anything of this sort. When I was little, I had a few touchy-touch experiences with friends here and there, but that was pretty much it. As I got older I heard about masturbation from some friends who were in the 8th grade. They would talk about it when I was around, but I never really understood what they truly meant. But as time went by and I got older, I eventually discovered what my friends were talking about this whole time.

I was about 12 years old when a school friend introduced me to masturbation. When I was at his house for a visit, he showed me his penis, and he had an erection. I had never seen an erect penis before, but suddenly also my penis became erect. I don't remember that I ever had an erection at all before then. He showed me what you can do with your penis, and he told me that when I stroke my penis a white liquid will come out, which would be that stuff children are made with, and it will feel great.
