I think other parts of the penis may take up the function of providing sexual stimulation after circumcision. I was circumcised at birth, and when I discovered masturbation, I would rub the loose skin behind the head of my penis between my thumb and forefinger. The seat of that good feeling seemed to be the point just behind the cleft of my glans. A few years later, I shifted to using the "fist" grip, and the sensation seemed to come from my penis shaft as much as from that little spot behind my glans. And consistently, after orgasm, my glans has always become highly sensitive. Now that I am older, the ridge of my glans seems to be the more sensitive spot, along with my "sweet spot." I have spent my share of time pining after my lost foreskin, but lately decided that the real blessing is that I have a penis that has given me so much pleasure over the years, I'm not sure how I would have handled any more sensation.

This Week's Wackiest Response:
The only difference is the color: Circumcised penises are green and uncircumcised penises are purple.
- age 14, California
I have no way of knowing for sure, but it seems that intact men are more sensitive than circumcised men. I am intact and am wonderfully sensitive. I wouldn't have it any other way. Still, I think circumcised penises look more attractive. Is that weird?
- age 47, Missouri
My theory is that uncut men have more fun. They have a foreskin to play with. Also, it feels quite good when masturbating. I've heard that masturbation is not as pleasurable with cut men. I am uncut and masturbation feels great! But, putting on condoms sucks! My foreskin always rolls back and it's hard to get the condom on right. That seems to be the only downfall that I know.
- age 16, Kentucky
The head of my penis is so sensitive I can't imagine what it would be like to be uncircumcised. To prolong ejaculation, I prefer my cut penis.
- age 45, Florida
I don't think that uncut guys have more fun, because they have to do all that extra cleaning, and I don't think it's worth it for that little bit of extra feeling. Anyway, I'm happy with the feeling I get from my circumcised penis.

I'm in an interesting position with this topic, because although I was circumcised as a child, the doctor didn't snip me closely. This left me with a foreskin that stretched through my years of maturation, making my penis look uncircumcised again. I'd never change anything about my body, including my penis. The foreskin is very nice and adds to sexual situations. There is more skin to play with and stimulate, and there's also less need for lube when masturbating.
- age 22, New Jersey
I don't know, and I don't care. It seems that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence until you get there. My penis is circumcised; I have a few friends who are uncircumcised. I have fun. They have fun. What else matters?
- age 14, California
The uncircumcised men I've had have always seemed to enjoy themselves more, and I know that I've enjoyed them more. Circumcised men seem more often to be inhibited.
- age 45, West Virginia (female)
I am uncut. I have less fun because I always worry about what girls will think of my penis. They're more accustomed to circumcised guys.
- age 17, Missouri
When I was younger, one of my friends told me about a guy his father knew who had to be circumcised for some medical reason. He said that sex was much better after he had it removed. So, I thought that maybe the foreskin acts like a skin-condom, dulling pleasure, and that it is a good thing that I was circumcised when I was quite young. It turns out that I was wrong. Briefly, I think that a foreskin is good if you're masturbating — but in real sex, that lack of sensation can keep you going longer, and that's good for you and your partner.

When I was 14 I was circumcised for religious reasons. Although I had always accepted that I would be circumcised, I found that the loss of my foreskin was devastating to my masturbation techniques and the pleasure I got at the point of ejaculation. I believe that the foreskin does have a lot of nerves in it that greatly add to orgasm intensity. My orgasms now are good, but certainly not as good as they were before my circumcision.

I don't know if we uncircumcised have more fun, but it is nice to have the choice, especially while masturbating. I've been using the "fist" grip for more than 20 years, but I recently discovered lubrication. Since then, I change my method now and then. If I want to be quick or want to watch porn on the computer, I do it dry and use my foreskin. If I have more time and really want to pay attention to my body, penis, and feelings, I pull my foreskin all the way down, lube up, and slowly work myself up to the great sensation. As I said, it's great to have the choice. Besides, the foreskin is a nice, sensitive thing to play with.

I am uncut and love it. I think there is more freedom. Sometimes when I masturbate, I leave the skin around the head, and other times I pull it back and masturbate as if I were circumcised. In some ways, having an uncut penis provides the freedom to act both cut and uncut. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

I was circumcised when I was 31 years old. I found that it's cleaner and that my underwear stays clean longer. I also take longer to climax than when I was uncircumcised. I think my glans is not as sensitive now; I bring my wife to orgasm sooner and more intensely. Sometimes she has two orgasms before me. For me, it's better by far to be circumcised.
- age 45, South Africa
I have a friend who is uncut and I've masturbated him before. The only difference I could tell is that he has more loose skin when he's erect. As for feeling, I can never know about that.
- age 15, Florida
Having been circumcised at birth, I can only go by what a friend and his wife told me. He had to be circumcised in his mid 20s because of an infection under his foreskin. He said that he enjoyed sex much more after the operation. His wife said she enjoyed certain acts much better, because he easily cleaned himself. It seems that the popularity of circumcision has been dropping, but research still shows possible links between cervical cancer and uncircumcised men. Being circumcised, I have always mentioned this to potential sex partners. Sometimes it works!
- age 65, South Carolina
I am circumcised, and I can't think of it being any more fun than it already is.
- age 15, New Jersey
About 10 years ago I had a friend whose foreskin was intact — the first and only time I saw an uncircumcised penis up close. It was even more fascinating because he could do about 101 things with his foreskin. But he also said that he would get infections under the skin from time to time — so, pros and cons for both.
- age 24, California
I was circumcised last year, so I know what it's like in both worlds. And I must say it's really different. With a foreskin, the glans is more sensitive, which means more possibilities. A slight touch can equal erection (but it also equals more chances of getting hurt there). And a properly lubed hand can be a world of joy. Then again, without the foreskin it's easier to get an erection just by rubbing your glans with a bare finger. And the glans doesn't become *totally* insensitive, only now I can rub it harder. As I said, it's two different worlds.
- age 17, Texas
I was uncircumcised until I was 18. Then, it was my choice, and I have never regretted it. I was always bashful before, but not now. Of course, I masturbated before — and a lot now. I find the difference to be not that much. I feel sexier now that I'm cut, and I have a lot more confidence. It's easier to clean my penis as well. In short, I've been both ways and I prefer being circumcised!
- age 20, California
I think that as long as both circumcised and uncircumcised penises can fulfill all the necessary functions, can become erect, and can be stimulated to orgasm, there's nothing to complain about. If you're uncut, enjoy it; if you're cut, enjoy it. If your penis can give you sexual pleasure, its circumcision status seems unimportant.
- age 46, Tennessee
My stepbrother is uncut and I am cut. He is 17, and we share a room and talk about everything together. He says that even though he loves having a foreskin for masturbation, he is self-conscious about it because he is different from most other guys. In his life, he has seen only one other male who was uncut. His girlfriend said she was shocked at first, but because his foreskin retracts when he is erect, it wasn't that different from the circumcised guy she'd had intercourse with — except that he lasts longer. We aren't sure whether the foreskin helps him last longer. So, he may have more possibilities when he masturbates or gets masturbated, but it makes him feel weird. He has considered getting it removed, but the pain seems extreme.
- age 16, New York
I haven't experienced a man who is uncircumcised, but friends who studied abroad in Italy have. Months later, they still talk about the stench of the penises they encountered!
- age 20, Illinois (female)
Being female, it's difficult to comment. However, I have had a number of boyfriends since I was 12, and I've seen the penis of almost every one of them. I find that the sight of an uncut penis makes me feel really sexy, even if it's extremely small, whereas a large, circumcised penis is a definite turn-off for me. If I were a circumcised boy, I think I'd be mad to grow up knowing that my parents had allowed me to be "mutilated" at such a young age.
- age 15, Ireland (female)
My parents left me uncut, and I voluntarily got circumcised at age 18. Other than the fact that everybody else was circumcised, I felt that my foreskin was an annoyance because it was almost moist and sometimes retracted on its own. I preferred the look of a circumcised penis to an uncut one. I never used the foreskin when I masturbated, so it was almost useless to me. After I got circumcised, it felt great! It was dry, smooth, and looked great. Pain during the circumcision was minimal.
- age 22, California
I grew up knowing that most males are circumcised and that I'm not. I always thought that eventually, I'd get circumcised to fit in; but I realized later that it doesn't really matter. My foreskin lets me masturbate more easily than if I were circumcised. I've heard that some uncircumcised males don't use lubrication to masturbate, but I imagine that those of us with foreskins get more stimulation. I've tried lubrication, but I seem to get over-stimulated from completely contacting my sensitive glans. The partial contact that the foreskin makes with the glans feels better. We may not have more fun; we just do it differently.
- age 19, North Carolina
I grew up uncircumcised and masturbating a lot, like every boy. I loved to play with my foreskin. I lived with my mom, and she remarried when I was 12. My new dad had three sons, and they were all circumcised. He talked to my mom and then to me about why he thought I should be cut, too — so I wouldn't stand out from the crowd in the showers, and that it was cleaner, among other reasons. That summer, I got circumcised. It was quite sore for a while, but now I'm more used to it, and it feels much better when I play with it.
- age 14, Florida
I've fantasized about being circumcised since I was 12 years old. Finally, I had it done 4 years ago. For me, circumcision is a great turn-on, so I am pleased with my new status (circumcision in my country is rare). Physically, my penis feels less sensitive after the circumcision, but my new appearance and the eroticism of being circumcised compensates for it. Everybody should be able to decide for himself whether to be circumcised.
- age 33, Estonia
As a woman, the biggest difference to me between uncut and cut men is visual. Aesthetically, circumcised men are so much more attractive. I am quite a visual person sexually, and a circumcised penis is what I want to see. Also, there is the belief that circumcised men are cleaner. There isn't all that skin to trap stuff. So, the idea of oral sex with a circumcised man is much more appealing. I go to nursing school and have had some *horrible* experiences with the smells and sights of uncircumcised men, so I am biased towards circumcised men — definitely!
- age 18, California (female)
The foreskin on an uncut penis has about 240 feet of nerves that a cut penis does not have. Thus, sensitivity is greater in the uncut penis. The uncut penis is sexy to look at. Guys in my gym showers frequently cast long, envious looks at my abundant foreskin. Leaving a son intact is the greatest gift parents can give him.
- age 26, Wisconsin
Having been circumcised a year ago, I can say that for me, the differences are minimal. People make more of the desensitization issue than they should. It seems more mental than physical. Circumcised and uncircumcised men just feel sensations differently, but the sensations are still there. I'm very happy with my circumcision, and although it wasn't as big a change as I had hoped (aside from looking like everyone else), I'm happy to say that the desensitization isn't bad. And no, my foreskin never really let me "do" any more; it was just extra lubrication, which I wanted only occasionally.
- age 20, Ontario, Canada
I think uncircumcised penises are more flavorful! I love the taste, and circumcised penises just don't do it for me.
- age 15, United Kingdom (female)
I don't think uncircumcised men have more fun. However, they are much more sensitive to touch, whether manual or oral. To be uncircumcised is the way man was originally intended to be, and for that reason exclusively, uncircumcised men have an advantage. Although I am circumcised, I have always found uncircumcised penises quite mysterious and erotic.
- age 45, North Carolina
I am uncut and started having sex with my girlfriend about a year ago. She told me that her previous boyfriend had been circumcised, and she likes the feel of my penis inside her a lot better, even though my penis is slightly smaller. I personally think it is much better to have skin over the penis tip, both for masturbation and for intercourse. Everything is so smooth with a foreskin, and I would guess that masturbation without lubrication must be very difficult for someone who has been circumcised.
- age 15, Sweden
No theories for me — having been circumcised about 5 years ago, I can honestly say it makes no real difference, whether for masturbating or for having sex. I missed my skin at first, but I soon got over it.
- age 28, United Kingdom
I was circumcised one year ago — my choice. I have had sex both ways, and sex is much better now that I'm circumcised.
- age 42, New York
In my youth, school friends who were uncut were always popular for mutual masturbation sessions because their penises looked longer. They definitely had more experiences. I am 50% cut, and I was still fascinated by "the full Monty." I visit South Korea often, where the American influence has swung the pendulum in favor of circumcision to about 95% of all males. Korean men (even the straight ones) in the public bathhouse cannot keep their eyes off the uncircumcised foreigners (even Japanese) who have retained a prized possession. Even my 50% foreskin is very popular with the Koreans.
- age 55, United Kingdom
I was circumcised at age 30. For weeks, the newly uncovered head of my penis tingled from rubbing against my boxer shorts and led to inconvenient erections. Then the tingling stopped. But this small loss of sensitivity did not affect the pleasure of masturbation or the intensity of my orgasm. The sexual response uses nerves that are deep inside the penis and the brain as well as those in the skin. Circumcision made no difference to me. My foreskin had been painful to retract and hard to keep clean. I say, "Good riddance!"
- age 39, Texas
I think the circumcised penis looks more attractive, and I would say that circumcised men have more fun. I've never sucked on a man's penis when he's still had his foreskin, because those guys tend to be less hygienic down there — they can't easily clean that specific bit.
- age 16, United Kingdom (female)
I'm uncut and, until I reached adulthood, was uncertain about my preference regarding circumcision. All my friends were cut, which made me the oddball. In gym class, I'd retract my foreskin to hide it because I always thought cut looked better. Since adulthood, though, I think uncut offers more variety, certainly for masturbation. I was the first uncut guy for my wife, who has been with perhaps 40 or 50 men in her life. She says that now she prefers foreskin. I sometimes have problems with the skin not staying retracted during intercourse, but any number of different penis rings takes care of that.
- age 37, Illinois
I am uncircumcised, and two of my friends with whom I masturbate, both circumcised, seem to have less pleasure. My foreskin massages the head of my penis by sliding over it as I masturbate. I've tried to masturbate without moving my foreskin, but it gives me less pleasure and makes it harder to reach orgasm. Among the 3 of us, I am usually the first to reach orgasm, and I think it's due to my foreskin! I've read a lot about the foreskin (and viewed many photos) and read that the foreskin is beneficial in masturbation, intercourse, and for safety reasons.
- age 15, Ohio
I'm sure that every circumcised man has wondered if he is missing some special pleasure, because that missing 5 square inches of highly sensitive penile skin must produce a lot of pleasure. I am circumcised, so I prefer the neat, clean look of a penis without a shaggy covering — but I wonder about the pleasure. On the Internet I have seen more reports from adult-circumcised men who say there is no difference, or that it is better to be circumcised. But then, who knows what on the Web is true.
- age 54, Washington
I was circumcised when I was 15 because the doctor thought it necessary. I was lucky enough to experience both worlds, and I prefer being circumcised. I think it looks better and cleaner. Yes, circumcision does reduce sensitivity, but that's not necessarily bad. I remember when I masturbated and started to have sex, I could last only a minute or so before I was done. I didn't like to receive oral sex because my glans was too sensitive. Now that it's less sensitive, I can last a lot longer and enjoy oral sex. To me, my foreskin was just extra, and when I had it, it wasn't that great, even during masturbation.
- age 19, Canada
Even though I don't always like the look of an uncut penis, I think we cut guys are missing out on some extra pleasure that our uncut friends enjoy. A buddy of mine who is uncut says that little piece of skin is a big part of what makes masturbating feel so good. The good news is, I'm still getting by just fine. Stroking without it feels plenty good to me, and I guess you don't miss what you don't remember ever having.
