By the way, this Question had the lowest response turnout of any since JackinWorld's first year on the Web back in '96-'97.]
They have all been accurate. Growing up, I was taught that I should never feel sexual guilt unless my practices were irresponsible and injured someone else psychologically or physically. As a result, when I contribute a response to this site I am rigorously honest – just as my parents were with me. With so many people accessing this site, I would be renouncing my own values and those of my parents if I were to lie. However, it seems pretty obvious to me that some people do lie in their responses, and that does a great disservice to those who come here for affirmation and information.

This Week's Wackiest Response:
This one time I wrote an answer about writing an answer about writing an answer....
- age 16, Canada
I don't think I've ever outright lied in a response, but I have spread it a bit thick on occasion. Particularly on the question of how it feels to need to masturbate after a long hiatus: That one was, if not exaggerated, then at least rather embellished. But that was mostly an attempt to convey my physical sensations truly in words, something that is often hard to do – especially when dealing with sexual sensations.
- age 19, Sweden
I have written no fantasies, untrue answers, or embellishments – just the truth as I have experienced it. Some of what you publish here, though, obviously seems to be someone's fantasy; but that's okay, too. I'm thinking of 8-inch penises on 12-year-olds and such.
- age 62, Massachusetts
I've exaggerated or embellished sometimes, just to try for the Wackiest Response. Some of the Wackiest Responses are really wacky. But still, the honest responses are way more important. If we just made up stuff all the time, that would defeat the purpose of the Question of the Week, because it's about sharing experiences to create a more accepting view of masturbation and sexuality, right?
- age 19, Missouri
Because of the anonymity, I have revealed stuff I would rarely tell others, giving intimate details such as that I am Jewish yet was not circumcised, that I didn't grow hair under my arms until I was well into my 20s, that my flaccid penis barely protrudes past my pubic hair, that I have hair all the way up my shaft, and that the opening on my penis is not at the tip. Yet I have changed my age by a few years, perhaps just to avoid that small chance of being recognized by a friend. Now the truth is out!
- age 41, Oregon
I haven't sent a fake response, but I have exaggerated my penis size. I'm not as big as I say I am when I write these things – but then I'm not small, either.
- age 16, North Carolina
I have never lied or even stretched the truth on any responses. I want to compare and share my masturbation practices, not brag about them. That's the only way to benefit from reading the site. To my way of thinking, lying about masturbation is like writing pornography. If that's what I want, there are other sites for that.
- age 57, Ohio
I am always 100% honest with my responses – even more so than when I talk with my friends. I guess the anonymity helps boost my confidence. I would hate to think that a good majority of these responses are fakes, because I always love reading them – they comprise a good deal of my own fantasies later on! I just love it because not only is it erotic, it's also honest, which is why I'd rather come here than read porn sites where everything sounds like a Penthouse letter. In fact, I almost don't want to check back when these are posted – I don't want my bubble burst and learn that my fantasies have been made up!
- age 21, Tennessee (female)
Real-life experiences are so much more erotic to write about (and to read)! When reading about people's masturbation sessions I can normally tell who is tweaking and who isn't. If I really wanted tweaked stories I could go to an NC-17 Web site, but I don't like them – they're inappropriate for teenagers (and, I think, for everyone). Masturbation is too precious to be lied about or turned into some rude and gross fantasy. Masturbation is for people who realize they are not ready for sex but have already been introduced to that sensational sexual pleasure!
- age 13, Texas
I once faked some details about a situation that I was involved in. The main reason I embellished the story is that some of the stories I read here are quite erotic. I wanted to include some details that I knew would give others the same kind of pleasure their stories had brought to me. I guess I've learned telling the truth is far easier to tell, because it's the easiest to remember. Sorry, guys and girls – no more "tweaked" stories from me!
- age 34, Indiana
It wasn't exactly a fake response, but a few weeks ago I wrote a response in the James Joyce stream-of-consciousness style, hoping it would be chosen as that week's "Wackiest Response." But it didn't make it. As a matter of fact, it didn't even make it onto the responses page at all. So I wasted my time.
- age 16, Pennsylvania
I really did masturbate by sticking my penis through a knothole in the fence and ejaculating into the neighbor's yard. And I really did masturbate at my desk at work. But I must admit that my friend and I did not masturbate to ejaculation on the skyride at Disneyland. We just stroked ourselves. The rest was my fantasy, man.
- age 37, California
I have never exaggerated or falsified a response. It seems too dishonest. One needs to be frank when answering these questions, so that others can learn from your experiences.
- age 65, South Carolina
I guess I have tweaked my responses before – but then, mine have never gotten published. I think masturbation is serious and should not be lied about. It's important to keep the stories real so people don't try things that may not be good for them, such as saying you stick things in your urethra if you really don't – then people would try it because they would think it's okay.
- age 13, Canada
I'm pretty sure the only thing I have lied about is my age. In several responses I have subtracted 42 years from my actual age so that young men would feel more kinship for the experiences of a man their age. Whenever age has mattered in the answer, I have told the truth.
- age 72, Texas
I embellish my responses all the time. I like to be as descriptive as possible, even if it means lying. I said that I streaked across a nude beach once, when I never did. I said this because I was trying to get the point across that people shouldn't care about how they look. Sometimes you can't make your point being completely honest. However, I find it best to answer questions being real and being myself. It's just easier.
- age 15, South Carolina
All of my responses to JackinWorld questions have been honest. I believe that the reason so many of my responses have been chosen for posting (3 have been selected as Best Response) is that the sincerity and truthfulness is obvious, and just as important as the information being conveyed.
- age 49, New Jersey
I forget what exactly I wrote, but I think it was about a penis size. I put 7 inches, but I'm really 4 1/2. Sorry.
- age 15, Illinois
Rather than lie about myself, it excites me to divulge fully what were previously my sexual secrets.
- age 71, Wisconsin
Everything I've written as a response to a Question of the Week has been completely true. The truth is more interesting than anything one might make up, isn't it?
- age 46, Tennessee
This is one place where I feel that I can be completely honest. I can talk completely openly because it's totally anonymous. Also, I would never want to throw off survey results by being dishonest. It's plain and simple – honesty is the best policy. There's no reason to lie!
- age 16, Illinois
I've never written a fake response, but once I did put my age much younger and answered as if I were a young me instead of my actual age. I was having a wonderful time remembering, and it just seemed like the thing to do. After all, this has been one of my main hobbies for almost 60 years, and I remember the wonders of first experiments as if they were yesterday.
- age 68, Texas
I have never written a fake response – but sometimes when I read them, I can tell that a female response is really a 13-year-old boy feeling excited!
- age 16, United Kingdom
Of course – sometimes that's the only way to get them published. When a QoW asks, "Have you ever done such and such?" you can't just say no! Who wants to read that?
- age 21, Connecticut
This board is anonymous, so I don't need to lie to avoid being "discovered," and I don't quite see the point of lying to make the response seem better. You lie to people who know you if you feel insecure about yourself. Since nobody knows who I am on here, what do I care if their tiny minds think my answer is weird or different? I also don't write "funny" responses about aliens or monkeys or whatever – that is very sophomoric.
- age 54, Washington
I wrote that I had sex and masturbated with my sister regularly, because I have always had a fantasy about doing that.
- age 13, Washington
I have never written a fake response. I have written many responses, and always hope to see one posted. Several of my "feedbacks" to Forum have been posted, and it's hot to read them online and know that everyone else is reading them. I'll continue responding, whether I get posted or not, because it's hot just writing in and knowing that Insider members can read them.
- age 47, Illinois
I have sometimes bent the truth a little because telling the whole truth would require a much longer explanation. The shortened version isn't exactly correct, but then again, you don't want extremely long responses. Other than that, if I don't have something interesting to say, I just don't respond. As for the other people, I think we all know that most of the "wacky" responses were lies told just to get to be the Wackiest Response.
- age 17, North Carolina
On JackinWorld and other sites, when I have discussed my lifelong passion for masturbation and shared with others the adventures that my penis and I have had together, the knowledge that what I am writing is absolutely true is far more enjoyable and, yes, erotic than any made-up story ever could be.
- age 46, Louisiana
I once said that my penis is 8 inches long and that I had never masturbated with another guy. However, it's only 6 inches long and my boyfriend and I have sex together almost every day. I did it because my cousin was with me when I was typing, and I didn't want him to know that I'm gay. It was funny, though, because after that, we started to read JackinForum and ended up wanking each other!
- age 16, Michigan
I once pretended to be 15 years old in answer to the question, "Is there anything or any place in particular that makes you want to masturbate more than at other times?" My answer was, "Whenever I become aware that my penis and my hand are in the same room, it makes me want to masturbate." I don't know why I did it. Maybe I thought you would be more likely to publish it, which you did. I'm sorry that I lied. [We published it because it was a good response, not because of the age stated. -Ed.]
- age 66, New York
I sometimes embellish my responses because I am usually very horny when I write them! I masturbate right afterwards. I just write erotically.
- age 17, New Jersey (female)
Although I have never lied or embellished a response, I haven't always told the whole story. Some things just shouldn't be shared.
- age 41, California
It's important to write only the truth. I, myself, use JackinWorld as a resource and to find out about other people's experiences. It would be unfair to lie and still expect others to tell the truth. Also, by lying about my experiences, I would be breaking a mutual trust that JackinWorld visitors share.
- age 16, United Kingdom
Although I've considered falsifying or exaggerating a response to try and increase my chances of having my answer posted, I never do it. If I were to lie or embellish my response, and it got posted, it would be unsatisfying because it wouldn't be my *real* response. I prefer to keep them honest and hope that my real response gets published sometime.
- age 19, Illinois
Yes: "I never masturbate in the shower – it wastes too much water." I thought it was funny as hell when I wrote it.
- age 14, New Jersey
I admit to embellishing my responses sometimes, but I've never made up a response or lied. I don't see any reason to do that, except maybe for the honor of the week's Wackiest Response. Some of those are pretty funny. As for embellishing, sometimes it's more of a turn-on to elaborate on something that actually happened. I tend only to do that when responding to questions that involve masturbating and other people, mostly guys. I haven't done that too often and feel like I have missed out on something, for the most part.
- age 35, Massachusetts
The first few times I wrote, I said I was from California. I was scared that I would be recognized. It sounds stupid, because it wasn't like I was the *only* 13-year-old in Arkansas. As for what I say, I tell the truth. I have to pretend to my parents that I don't do it – as well as to most of my friends – because I live in a town frozen in time. I do not need to make up anything fancy. I am just happy to be able to say that I masturbate and enjoy it.
- age 14, Arkansas
I lied about a question that asked if we had ever seen "evidence" of someone else's masturbation. I wrote that I had a weekend guest who went to the beach and left his clothing piled on his bed. While my guest was out, I went into the guest bedroom and saw his "evidence" on the front of his briefs. Actually, we had watched a video the night before and ejaculated into our underwear. I still liked looking at it, though. I was new to the Internet when I responded to that question. Now I know – honesty is the best policy.
- age 37, New York
I once wrote that I'd had sex with my girlfriend, which wasn't true. I'm still a virgin. My girlfriend masturbates me, but that's it. She doesn't want to have sex yet. I just wrote it because I thought it was cool. However, the rest of my comment was true.
- age 15, Arizona
Well, who hasn't! No, really – I'd say exaggeration is the word to use. You can't blame a masturbator for getting a bit carried away while telling his "pleasure story" to lots of people, can you?
- age 20, Sweden
No. What's the purpose of doing that? If you want to lie about your masturbation and sexual experience, go to a porn site.
- age 40, Australia
I have often been tempted to embellish to make my responses more exciting, but I have resisted that urge. I enjoy reading the responses so much that I don't feel the need to jazz mine up. However, I do try to write them in enough detail, and in good prose, to maximize their readability – and hopefully make them as arousing as possible to the reader, while keeping them within the bounds of truth. It is always a kick to read the responses and stumble across mine. When I do, I compare them with other responses. I think I measure up pretty well!
- age 26, West Virginia
As a Lifetime member of the best site on the Web, I would never falsify a response. We all have a responsibility of making and keeping JackinWorld what it is. The world has many problems already, one of which is a lack of good information for our youth – information I wish I could have had access to as a young "jack" myself. Here's to keeping it worth the visit, everyone.
